What have we been doing?

The Secondary Working Action Group cuts across all the Achievement and Process Challenges but has some unique aspects to it. We meet twice termly as a larger group to share how we are tracking towards our specific areas of focus. The WSTs work closely with, and support structures that already exist in the school. Some of the things the WSTs have done so far have included:

• Promoting conversations around Student Well being among staff and leading initiatives, particularly in supporting students in the move to the ILE environment

• Helping to organise Professional Development sessions

• Promoting initiatives that raise awareness and help support students with additional learning needs

• Supporting Provisionally Certified Teachers in developing their understanding of inquiry

• Re-starting and facilitating the Literacy Lead Team

• Developing links with Primary and Intermediate schools

• Inquiring into how we can best support students in their transitions beyond secondary school.
